After hearing this problem over and over year after year I began to question people and found that ninety-nine percent of them were taking there vitamins first thing in the morning often right after eating only a small breakfast. I than began to recommend that people take their supplements after lunch. Let’s face it,  most of us really don’t have the most settled stomach first thing in the morning anyways. Then we often eat a very small breakfast that really does not do much to coat our stomach. Then to go and throw a handful of often acidic supplements on top of this is a very bad idea. So, it is no wonder why so many people have stomach nausea when taking vitamins.

About 10 years ago I began to recommend taking the bulk of your supplements at lunch time, or at your second meal of the day. The reasons behind this seem obvious, first is that in general most peoples stomach is far more settled in the afternoon than first thing in the morning. Next, is that after two meals your stomach is much more coated and naturally protected from the acids in some vitamins than after only one meal, especially when that is for many people a very small meal. In addition if you are eating smart, lunch should be your biggest meal of the day and therefore for the best nutrient absorption it makes perfect since to take your supplements with your largest meal.

So many people that I have guided have been able to take their supplements with little or no stomach upset by taking there supplements with lunch rather than with breakfast. I personally have never had problems with nausea from supplements, but have been taking mine at lunch for more than ten years now. My thinking is why risk future stomach problems by introducing acidic vitamins into your system first thing in the morning. I currently advice all my clients to take there supplements at lunch.

Prevention is becoming the key. If we supply our body the natural fuels we are lacking in our modern diets we can prevent many future medical problems.

Our government should be making major public announcements for the value of natural supplements and nutrition to prevent and even treat disease of all kinds, ranging from obesity to heart disease to cancer and many others.  The science is overwhelming that key fundamental nutrients are lacking in the American diet that set the stage for the common diseases plaguing our health system, including vitamin D, omega 3 oil, magnesium, calcium, and antioxidants.  Restoring these basic nutrients to a deficient population would drastically improve the quality of health in America. It seems our government’s main concern is to make doctors, pharmaceutical companies, and lawyers richer.

This is a new thing, as little as one year ago I heard very little from the medical community about natural vitamin D, and I was not even taking a daily supplement myself. Then about a year ago I began taking 1000 IU a day, now I have personally increased that dosage to 2000 IU daily. I am recommending 2000 IU each day to my clients, but this could be going higher again. I’ll keep you posted.

The big sales point is that you need to take only one small softgel as apposed to the 2 large softgels that is recommended on most omega 3 bottles.

One softgel of Krill Oil supplies 90 milligrams of Omega 3 fatty acids. From my perspective that is almost worthless to take. What a joke. These companies making these claims should be ashamed of themselves.

Two softgels of a typical Omega 3 product contain 690 milligrams of Omega 3 fatty acids. So by just following the recommended dosage on the bottles you will be getting more than 7 times the Omega 3 by just continuing to use the good old fashioned natural fish oil.

The sad thing is that many usually reputable supplement companies are advertising this scam. Most notably is Schiff with its MegaRed product. What a bunch of junk that product is! Do your homework and don’t get fooled!
